Detroit Lions Vs. Jets: New York Changes Starting QB

The Detroit Lions vs. Jets game is set to play this Sunday. The Jets’ starting quarterback Mike White was injured last week. And everyone was waiting to hear if he would be well enough to play against the Lions. So, according to Adam Schefter, Zach Wilson will take White’s place as starting quarterback.

“Sources: Jets doctors will not clear QB Mike White for contact before Sunday’s game vs. Detroit and thus Zach Wilson will start against the Lions. White wanted to play and has practiced but Jets doctors are not signing off. Thus, Wilson is back as the Jets’ starting QB.”

Why it matters: The Detroit Lions are trying their hardest to make it to the playoffs this year. So to do that the Lions would have to win all their remaining games to even have a chance. After watching the slow start for Detroit, many fans were left thinking…Same Old Lions. But after an explosive turnaround, the Lions are now 6-7 on the season. Now they look to move to .500 on the season this Sunday. Mike White was arguably the only quarterback on the Jets’ roster who could make the Lions sweat. Now that Zach Wilson will be his replacement Detroit’s chances of achieving .500 this season, just got a boost.

  • Zach Wilson has struggled this season and was replaced by Mike White three weeks back following his poor performance vs. the Patriots.
  • White was injured this past Sunday in the Bills‘ game as he took a hit by linebacker Matt Milano.
  • This was White’s second injury in the AFC East matchup.
